What a wonderful time Swiftwater had at Mount Beaser Church in Sopchoppy! This church has such a sweet spirit. Wretha's mom said those people there were sooo nice! What a pleasure to meet wonderful people such as these. We're looking forward to seeing these folks again soon!

New Bass Player

Amy has a new job in the band! Not only does she have to belt out those haunting vocals, but she also has to keep time on that big 'ol bass! She's doing a wonderful job since Ruth Hagy, our previous bass player, decided to move on to other places in her life. We wish you luck, Ruthy! Meanwhile, Amy has astounded us all with her ability to jump right in on the bass like an old pro....and just watch her face while she's thumpin' those notes...she's having the time of her life!!

Swiftwater and Sharlyn Marie Smith

Sharlyn Marie Smith has played mandolin for Swiftwater for a whole year now! Swiftwater looks forward to many more years as Sharyln and her mandolin cause eyes to turn. Before joining Swiftwater, Sharlyn played mandolin with The Rivertown Girls. We are blessed to have her be a part of Swiftwater!

MAD Fest

What a beautiful weekend for a festival!! The daytime weather was sunny and cool and the campfires kept our picking fingers warm by night. It was the perfect start for the first annual Music and Dance Festival in White Springs. Swiftwater entertained Saturday afternoon on the Amphitheater stage at the Stephen Foster Folk Culture Center State Park. We had such a great time singing and visiting with some of the best folks in the state. The volunteers, fellow musicians, and fabulous folks in the audience made for a memorable experience -- especially the gentleman in the audience who shouted "Turn it UP!" to the sound man. (Thank you!!)
Can't wait to do it all again next fall!

Under the Oaks Festival

What a great festival the Shriners put on this Saturday at the Under the Oaks park in Parker. The sound was wonderful, the audience was great, and the weather was almost perfect (incredibly hot, but it is June after all). WMBB did a short report on it Saturday night where you can hear a snippet of Al singing "Modern Day Marriage" in the background and catch a brief shot of Swifwater on stage. (Click Here to see it)
We are really looking forward to attending the festival next year. If they did such a great job on their first one, I can't wait to see what they have in store for 2009.
